Senators Edward J. Markey (D-MA) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ), and Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL) re-introduced the 3D Printed Gun Safety Act (H.R. 4225/S. 2319). This legislation would prohibit the online distribution of blueprints and instructions that allow for the 3D printing of firearms.
Americans home build firearms or 3D print for a host of lawful reasons. Indeed, making firearms at home is an American tradition that predates the United States. This would fundamentally outlaw most forms of 3D printing or home building. All state and federal firearms laws still apply, even if someone builds their own firearms at home. This is simply smoke and mirrors targeting your rights and property.
