This misguided bill would impose a LIFETIME ban on the possession of firearms on any individual convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic abuse.

AB 3129 is unnecessary because federal law already prohibits persons convicted of domestic violence misdemeanors from possessing firearms for life. 

More disturbingly however, the bill is unwise because if fails to provide critical constitutional and procedural safeguards necessary to ensure that the prohibition does not sweep too broad.
