HB 56 would impose even more rules on gun owners by forcing them to store their guns unloaded and in locked containers while being transported.
This misguided bill would do nothing to advance public safety. Moreover, it ignores the fact that the overwhelming majority of gun owners already safely transport their firearms. Therefore, all this bill will do is create a mechanism to punish law-abiding gun owners while ignoring the litany of illegal guns possessed and transported by criminals.
