Firearms Policy Coalition is firing back at California Attorney General Xavier Becerra.

Becerra recently issued a reminder stating bump stocks are illegal and anyone in the "state who possesses, manufactures, imports into the state, offers for sale, or who gives or lends one of the devices has committed a crime."

After the release of the statement, the FPC called Becerra's statements “disingenuous at best and probably illegal.”

"Not only is Attorney General Becerra’s so-called ‘news release’ inaccurate and misleading,” said FPC President Brandon Combs, “it is almost certainly an illegal underground regulation.”

Assuring the bump stock's legality wasn't the only point Combs was out to prove. He said Becerra's statement referred to underground regulation, which, according to State’s Office of Administrative Law, is prohibited.

"This appears to be one more example of the attorney general and his anti-gun DOJ banning guns and gun parts by executive fiat rather than following the rule of law and the constitutions he swore an oath to uphold,” Combs said.
