Assembly Bill 2222 would extend some existing firearms reporting requirements to all law enforcement agencies in the state. That makes sense.

As recent news has shown, criminals too often acquire firearms from law enforcement agencies and their employees. And some of these incidents have had tragic consequences.

The public should know when criminals get guns from government agencies and officers. This bill seems like a step in the right direction.
