- Bill: WA HB 1073 - Ban on “Undetectable” and “Untraceable” Firearms
- Position: Opposed
- Authors: Rep. Valdez (D-46) & AG Bob Ferguson
HB 1073 is a multifaceted, anti-gun bill that would wreak havoc on 2A rights.
First, this bill would ban so-called “untraceable” firearms like “80%/unfinished lowers and receivers” by requiring manufacturers to imprint serial numbers on them and retailers to conduct registration processes.
Second, HB 1073 would ban so-called “undetectable” firearms, meaning any firearm that doesn’t contain “sufficient metal” to be detected by metal detectors, x-ray machines, etc.
Third, this bill would declare machine guns, bump stocks, “undetectable firearms,” “untraceable firearms,” and other categories of firearms and firearm parts to be “contraband,” and it calls on police to seize said firearms and firearm parts.
