What do you think of this bill?

Via Guns.com:

An Arkansas senator proposed a bill last week that would institute a tax-free holiday for gun buyers across the state.

The bill, SB 126, was introduced by Arkansas Sen. Bart Hester on Friday and aims to create a “Second Amendment Appreciation Weekend,” in which rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammunition can be purchased tax-free.

According to KNWA – Northwest Arkansa News, Hester thinks the bill can help the state become even more pro-gun and intends for the holiday to land on the second weekend in September, a time when many hunters are gearing up for various hunting seasons.

Hester also cited his strong belief in the Second Amendment and respect for America’s founding fathers as inspiration for the legislation.

“I’m in a position, as most Arkansans are, that the more people that legally own guns the safer we all are,” Hester said. “And if this puts somebody in a position to be able to purchase a gun for protection for their home or personal protection…then I think it’ll actually maker people safer in Arkansas.”
