We told you this was going to happen.

On July 8th FPC and other gun rights groups beat HR 5611, which would’ve created brand new secret watch lists that would be run by the corrupt Justice Department and influenced by President Obama’s anti-Second Amendment agenda.

But we knew it wouldn’t be long before this idea came back again.

Now there are two bills that have been introduced that do just that - but they’re worse than before.

The bills, S. 3332 and H.R. 5544, would delay or even prohibit you from buying a gun if you were “under investigation” by the federal government for terrorism in the last 10 years (S. 3332) or ever (H.R. 5544).

What does that mean?

The federal government maintains secret lists and you won’t know you’re on them until you attempt to purchase a firearm.

And there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how someone winds up on a list.

Republican Congressman Tom McClintock and the late Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy somehow made the no-fly list. And there are countless other Americans that wind up on there every year.

We do think that protecting America from terrorists should be a priority.

But if a person is free enough to walk our streets, they should not be denied fundamental human rights due to their potentially erroneous presence on secret government lists.

Help us fight this further expansion of secret government power.

Sign the petition to fight these bills.

Then, call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell your representatives you oppose H.R. 5544 and S. 3332.

Time is of the essence. We need you in the fight!
