LAS VEGAS (July 13, 2022) – Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced today that attorney, constitutional litigator, and scholar Cody J. Wisniewski has joined the FPC Team as Senior Attorney for Constitutional Litigation.

Mr. Wisniewski has litigated cases across the United States addressing a variety of Second Amendment and other constitutional issues, including FPC’s active challenge to the State of Washington’s ban on common firearm magazines.

Cody also regularly writes on the subject, having been featured in the Washington Times, Washington Examiner, National Review, The Federalist, Daily Wire, Legal Insurrection, Real Clear Policy, The Truth About Guns, and more.

“I am beyond excited to join the team at Firearms Policy Coalition, the foremost organization battling for individual’s natural rights, including the right to keep and bear arms,” said Cody. “I have had the privilege of working with this team as outside counsel for a number of years and have nothing but respect and admiration for what they have already accomplished. But with the Supreme Court’s recent decision in NYSRPA v. Bruen, there is a lot of work to be done. And I can’t imagine a better place to be fighting for all people’s natural, fundamental, and constitutionally protected rights than as a member of the FPC Law team.”

“We’ve been honored to know and work with Cody for years, and now that he’s joined our FPC Law team, we have the privilege of working with him on a much larger scale of legal action,” said FPC President Brandon Combs. “Especially following the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, we have an incredible number of issues to resolve through constitutional litigation. To restore the People’s right to keep and bear arms, we will need, as Warren Zevon once put it, ‘lawyers, guns, and money.’ As an experienced litigator with outstanding values alignment, Cody is the perfect fit with our liberty-focused FPC Law legal action program, already the nation’s leading public interest legal team focused on the right to keep and bear arms, and the leader in the Second Amendment litigation and research space. We are proud that Cody will continue to serve our members and all individuals as Senior Attorney for Constitutional Litigation.”

Mr. Wisniewski graduated cum laude and earned his B.A. in Joint Honours Classics and Philosophy from the University of Ottawa. He then graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law with his Juris Doctorate and a concentration in Business and Corporate Law. While at the University of San Diego, Cody served as Federalist Society President, Vice-Chair of National Teams for the Appellate Moot Court Board, and an Executive Board member for the San Diego International Law Journal. He regularly speaks to industry groups, law students, and everyday Americans about the Constitution and his work.

Mr. Wisniewski has already worked with FPC on a number of cases, including Sullivan v. Ferguson, California v. ATF, Syracuse v. ATF, and led the charge in our victory against New Mexico’s unconstitutional shuttering of retail firearms businesses in Aragon v. Grisham.
