Issue: Michigan elected officials say protesters at the state capitol building should be arrested for brandishing if anyone thinks they look intimidating

Summary:

• URGENT! Protest is planned for May 14, 2020, where government actors have threatened to make arrests.
• Let Michigan's governor and legislative leaders know they can't just arrest people for exercising their rights.
• Carrying a rifle peacefully is in no way "brandishing weapons in an intimidating way" to justify an arrest

There have been tremendous waves in Michigan after events saw armed protesters at the capital. Soon after, state representatives sought to more heavily restrict the right of the people to bear arms on the capital. Then, as another protest was planned, government actors began threatening to arrest anyone who carried a weapon!

It is urgent that you contact your Michigan representatives NOW and inform them that your rights don't end where their feelings begin!
