Alaska jury finds gun store owner not responsible for murder

Emily Russo Miller for JuneauEmpire.com reports:

Local gun dealer Ray Coxe, accused of selling a firearm off the books to a fugitive, walked out of Juneau Superior Court Monday exonerated of any wrongdoing.

A jury hearing a wrongful death lawsuit against Coxe announced a verdict in his favor about 11:30 a.m. Monday, following a two-week trial and about 10 hours of jury deliberations.

The jurors, five men and seven women, found Coxe did not illegally sell fugitive Jason Coday a weapon that was used to kill 26-year-old Simone Young Kim in August 2006. The jury found Coday 100 percent to blame for the murder.
