On Monday, the California State Assembly passed AB 424 on a 43-23 vote.
The bill deletes the authority of a school district superintendent, his or her designee, or equivalent school authority to provide written permission for a person to possess a firearm within a school zone.
There have been several school districts in California that have allowed for concealed carry permit holders to carry their firearms when they go on campus.
That was far too many for anti-carry, anti-gun and anti-rights Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento) who has been on crusade to kill concealed carry permits for law-abiding individuals.
