Three bills to pay attention to as the fight for gun rights hits a high note in Congress.

SHARE Act

The bill you are most likely to hear about in the coming days is the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, or SHARE Act. Garnering the most attention is a provision that would loosen restrictions on purchasing gun silencers, which are currently regulated under the National Firearms Act.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act

This legislation would nationalize concealed carry laws – essentially, if you have a permit in your own state, that would allow you to carry your firearm into another state. Currently, concealed carry laws vary from state to state.

‘Gun show loophole’ legislation

On the other side of the gun debate, expect Democratic senators to introduce legislation that would close loopholes in the background check system. The legislation is likely to address the so-called “gun-show loophole" — an exemption from background check requirements for sales of guns between individuals.
