Recently we reported that your FPC had successfully lobbied to get amendments that would provide an exemption for Licensed Collectors of Curios and Relics from the onerous background check requirements.

This is a modest but important step in correcting the numerous flaws in the Bloomberg funded I-594 background check measure, and restores the rights and privileges of licensed collectors.

Now we have an opportunity to move the needle much farther with a proposed common sense amendment by representative Representative John Koster that would also exempt transactions between holders of Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPLs).

This measure would address many of the criminal liability issues created with the passage of I-594 and would protect gun owners who have already been background checked and vetted by state and local authorities--like CPL holders.
