Governor Mary Fallin of Oklahoma signed SB 397 over the weekend to allow licensed concealed carry permit holders to bring their firearm with them on public buses.

The previous law had harsh punishments for law-abiding individuals who brought their concealed firearm aboard a public bus: up to a 10 year prison term and a $10,000 fine.

Obviously, those penalties did not fit the "crime."

Thankfully, the Oklahoma legislature and Governor Fallin agreed and eliminated this prohibition. The repeal will go into effect November 1, 2017.
