ANN ARBOR, MI - School districts in Michigan can legally ban guns on school property, the state's highest court has ruled.

The Michigan Supreme Court handed down its decision on Friday, July 27, on two related cases involving gun rights groups versus Ann Arbor Public Schools and Clio Area School District, both of which have policies banning firearms on school property.

Four of the seven justices were in agreement on upholding the previous Michigan Court of Appeals decisions affirming both school districts' right to enforce their weapons bans.
