In today's FPC legal update, we have an update from a lawsuit challenging New Jersey's restrictive carry laws.

Action: Brief in opposition

In this lawsuit challenging New Jersey's restrictive carry laws, the state filed a brief in response to the cert petition (which asked the Supreme Court to hear the case.) New Jersey's brief argues that the court should decline to hear the case "because petitioner did not present any Second Amendment claims to the trial court or to the appellate court whose decision he now seeks certiorari." In addition, the response argues that if the court is not going to deny the petition, it should hold the case until NYSRPA v. Bruen (which challenges New York's similar carry laws) is decided. The petitioners will now have a chance to file a reply in response to New Jersey's brief.
