Thanks to our lobbying and your grassroots efforts, Governor Brown just VETOED two anti-gun bills.

It wouldn’t have happened without your support.

The bills the Governor just vetoed were:

AB 450, by Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (D-Sacramento), would have allowed local sheriffs and police chiefs to increase the fees they charge for CCW applications and license issuance. In essence, AB 450 would have priced many people out of their Second Amendment right to bear arms for self-defense. (You can read the veto message here.)

SB 1332, by Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Los Angeles), would have created hyper-technical new laws surrounding the loan of firearms. (You can read the veto message here.)

On the flip side, Governor Brown also just signed AB 2510.

You might remember that we fought hard for most of the year to get AB 2510 amended in order to create an actual modern, uniform conceal carry permit. And just weeks ago, those amendments were pushed through.

We know the fight’s far from over, but when we do win it’s important to take a minute to thank you for your help and support.

So, thank you for all of your hard work and being active to ensure that the Governor did the right thing on these bills.

We couldn’t have done it without you!
