February 21, 2022 – In advance of the Indiana Senate holding committee hearings this week on House Bill 1077, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement:

All peaceable adults have a human right to armed self-defense in public and one’s ability to exercise that right should not depend on the payment of a fee or permission slip from the government. Permitless carry legislation like House Bill 1077 provides Indiana’s Legislature with a historic opportunity to continue restoring the right to bear arms and our American tradition in the Hoosier State. FPC supports legislation repealing unconstitutional restrictions on the right to bear arms and, just as we did in Texas, will work to enact it in Indiana and everywhere.
