Bill/Issue: S 184 - Funding for Biased Gun Violence Research by the CDC

Summary: S 184 would appropriate $250,000,000 over the course of 5 years in order for the CDC to conduct research on gun violence prevention. By tasking an agency that’s core purpose is to find diseases and then framing the task with the words “gun violence prevention”, What Sen. Markey has done with S 184 is created a perfect storm for the CDC to find confirmation that guns are the problem and give a solution of gun confiscation. We would not allow this type of biased research to influence the food we eat, the medicine we take, and therefore we should not allow it to influence of vastly more important Second Amendment Rights.
