Bill: Florida SB 372

Sponsor: Senator Linda Stewart (D-13)

Position: Strongly Opposed

Summary: Criminalizes the manufacture, transfer, importation, distribution, sale, or possession of “3D-printed firearms”

If enacted, Florida SB 372 would make it a felony for individuals to manufacture, transfer, import, distribute, sell, or possess 3D-printed firearms that are created using PET, polycarbonate, PLA, or ABS, and which do not contain at least 4 ounces of detectable metal. Once effective, individuals in possession of these firearms would be required to destroy the firearm or surrender it to a law enforcement agency. Violation of SB 372 would constitute a third degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a $5,000 fine for the first offense.

Tell your legislator that Floridians, like all other individuals, have a right to bear arms, and that right includes the right to build arms.
