Bill/Issue: NY SB 848 - Create Pre-K-12 “Gun Violence” Education Program
- Position: Opposed
- Author: Sen. Benjamin (D-30)
Summary: SB 848 would task school districts to develop a “Gun Violence” prevention program for all grade levels. This prevention program is to include lessons like “student-set goals for change” and “development of competency and leadership skills to address issues with peers and the community”. What this really means is state funded condemnation and stigmatization of firearms. SB 848 will just be further government intervention and invasive influence on what values your child holds.
