The Hill: Sen. Murphy: Trump’s stance on guns ‘sinister’

Gun grabbing Senator Chris Murphy (Connecticut) used incendiary rhetoric this week at the Democratic National Convention regarding Republicans and gun control. Via The Hill:
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) tore into Republicans over gun control on Wednesday night in a dramatic speech from the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Democrats are putting a spotlight on gun violence, as a string of recent shootings have failed to break the years-long stalemate on gun control legislation in Congress. Families of victims and survivors of gun violence were also set to speak Wednesday night — including former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), who was shot in the head in 2011.
Murphy singled out GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, calling his position on the Second Amendment “sinister” and warning that he would allow guns in classrooms.
“Think about that for a moment: Of all the things that Donald Trump could have promised to do on his first day in office, he chose weakening background checks and putting guns in elementary schools,” Murphy said.
