Nevada Attorney General Comes Out Against Background Check Ballot Measure

The New York anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg-backed anti-gun ballot measure in Nevada, Question 1, has received further opposition. State Attorney General Adam Laxalt joined Governor Brian Sandoval to oppose the Bloomberg-funded measure that would expand background checks. Via the Las Vegas Review-Journal:
“As the state’s chief law enforcement officer, I take seriously my duty to ensure that my fellow Nevadans are safe,” Laxalt said in a statement. “I have carefully reviewed the Question 1 initiative and have concluded that it would not prevent criminals from obtaining firearms and would instead cost Nevadans time, money, and freedom.”
