Annual DC anti-gun rally draws hundreds

Hundreds of women gathered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial Saturday for their annual “Standing for Peace and Justice” rally.

They said they’re outraged by the gun violence in their communities and they demanded what they called “common sense solutions.”

There was a sea of faces in the crowd – photos of deceased loved ones held by mothers, grandmothers, sisters and widows. Most of these lives were lost to gun violence.

….Many of the rally’s participants represented anti-violence groups from across the country. Some were local, many were from the Philadelphia area and some traveled from as far as California to attend.
