A few hours after U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik, a Clinton appointee, muzzled Defense Distributed with a court order Tuesday evening, the CodeIsFreeSpeech.com mirror site appeared. It's a project of the Calguns Foundation, the Firearms Policy Coalition, and other civil rights groups, and includes freely downloadable computer-aided design (CAD) files for the AR-15, AR-10, Ruger 10-22, Beretta 92FS, and other firearms.

Shortly after that, a new site, CodeIsFreeSpeech.com, mirrored Wilson’s DEFCAD.com site. The site, a project of Firearms Policy Coalition, Firearms Policy Foundation, The Calguns Foundation, California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees, and unnamed individuals, was announced with a tweet from FPC.

WGAL: Site for 3D printed gun files blocked in Pennsylvania

It was only a few short months ago that a record number of Americans cited guns as the most important problem (April, 13%).
