Purchasing regulated gun parts would generally require face-to-face transactions and background checks, subject these items to new age restrictions, mandate FFLs to sell "firearm precursor parts" and new storage and handling requirements for sellers. Becerra, that challenges California’s ammunition laws as they were passed in Proposition 63 (2016) and Senate Bill 1235 (2016), and chaptered into the statutes pursuant to various chaptering instructions.

SAN FRANCISCO (April 10, 2020) — Today, attorneys for Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), California Gun Rights Foundation (CGF), California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees (CAL-FFL), National Rifle Association of America (NRA), and Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) filed an amended complaint and request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Bay Area governments and officials that forced firearm retailers to close amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
