SB 701 would remove persons with an outstanding warrant for a felony from the list of persons prohibited from possessing a firearm. The current law makes it a crime to be in possession of a firearm if there is a warrant out for your arrest, even if you don’t know the warrant exists. SB 701 would seek to correct this.
