Stand for the Second Amendment in New Jersey

You’re making a difference!

Governor Chris Christie just issued a conditional veto against two terrible anti-gun bills, A.3689 and S.816.

A conditional veto is when the governor vetoes a bill sent to him by the legislature and amends it into something he is willing to sign. It is then sent back to legislature for approval.

The conditions that Governor Christie set forth in his conditional veto would change New Jersey into a shall-issue state for concealed carry permits!

In addition to the vetoes, Christie issued the following statement:

“For decades, law-abiding residents of New Jersey have had their Second Amendment right to self-protection burdened by gun laws that are among the most unreasonable in the country. . . . Rather than doubling down on the unreasonable requirements for law-abiding residents of New Jersey to obtain a concealed carry permit, I propose having New Jersey join the 42 other states that have adopted a “shall-issue” standard for approving such applications.”

This is huge news.

Not only is Governor Christie willing to veto what needs to be vetoed, but he is willing to make a stand for the Second Amendment.

None of this would be possible without our friends at the New Jersey Second Amendment Society and, of course, YOU.

But the fight is not yet over.

We need you to stand with gun owners all across the Garden State in holding Christie’s feet to the fire.

Sign our petition and call him at 609-292-6000 to ask that he veto every piece of legislation until the Legislature sends him a shall-issue carry bill to sign!

I, the undersigned, URGE Gov. Christie to VETO all bills that come to him unless the New Jersey Legislature sends him a shall-issue concealed carry bill!
