BREAKING: Gunpocalypse stealth vote stopped
Your voice was able to make a HUGE difference earlier.
4 of the 5 Gunpocalypse bills were placed on the consent calendar, which means they could have passed without ever being brought up for a formal vote!
But you put a stop to it.
De Leon’s office told everybody that we were lying about the bills being pushed through so fast, but the status on the state website changed about an hour later after the countless calls!
Now we have to keep the pressure on and make sure the Senate hears your voice and votes no on the 5 Gunpocalypse bills on Thursday!
The bills to be voted on are:
AB 1664 (Levine): Bans common and constitutionally protected firearms that have magazine locking devices.
AB 1673 (Gipson): Redefines “firearms” to include items that are not firearms.
AB 1674 (Santiago): Bans buying more than one firearm within a 30-day period.
AB 1695 (Bonta): Makes some non-violent misdemeanors punishable by prohibitions on owning firearms.
AB 2607 (Ting): Dramatically expands who can request a Gun Violence Restraining order.
These bills are all eligible to be voted on this Thursday.
Thanks to you, they at least won’t be voted on in secret.
