ALERT: Two Republican Calif. Senators Vote to Disarm & Criminalize Law-Abiding Carry Licensees

California Senate Bill 707 — a wildly anti-gun bill, and perhaps the worst gun control bill currently alive in the California Legislature — was passed by the Senate’s Appropriations Committee yesterday.

That members of the California Legislature moved an anti-gun bill forward is not exactly shocking news to those who follow Second Amendment policy. What is notable is that SB 707 — which would disarm law-abiding carry licensees (“CCW” holders) in “school zones” and criminalize currently-lawful conduct — was unanimously supported by both Democrats and Republicans, including Senator Pat Bates (R-Orange County) and Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Roseville).

We urge everyone who supports Second Amendment rights to contact Senators Bates and Nielsen and respectfully share with them why their vote to pass SB 707 was a vote against the Constitution, our civil rights, and the people of California.
